"welcome to iptv.surf! here you’ll find a collection of articles from IPTVGroupBuy (rip) that will help you get started on your IPTV journey."

I posted a link to an archive of most of this stuff in an earlier post but this url is much more convenient.

I saw someone mention that there is an IPTVGroupBuy discord, but I haven’t been able to find it. Anyone know?

Invite only - "please do not go posting this on open forums" "please try to stick to people you actually talk to"

I still don't get the appeal of discord for this kind of stuff. Seems like a matter of time before it gets shut down too and all the useful info isn't discoverable by regular people. But I'm uninformed when it comes to discord.

Got it - thanks for the response. I agree with you, Discord seems suboptimal. But, if that’s where the discussion is, there’s not much choice.

Lemmy seems like a great solution, honestly

Rip iptvgroupbuy, thanks for sharing this

You lost me at step 1 use shady Chinese site known for scams.

I get where you're coming from, they tend to make up for it by being super cheap.

Aim to buy a year, don't pay more than $15, use as many extra protections as you can that will allow you to not give your credit card number directly to the site/seller. It's been awhile, but I would mostly just use paypal.

And if you hate PayPal, prepaid credit cards do the job also.

I haven't used it but there's also https://www.privacy.com/

Don't blame you. IPTV in general is risky and this stuff adds even more risk. Definitely not for folks looking for plug and play.

One of my coworkers was just trying to get me to buy an IPTV service that's charging $300 a year- lunacy. Your timing is impeccable and I'm going to jump down the rabbit hole, thanks.

Seems like a lot to go through, for extra $, and you don’t even get to keep a copy of the file for yourself. Torrents are good enough for me.

[–] Chewy7324@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 2 days ago

Torrents don't do live streams. E.g. watching recordings of football matches is not the same as live, and free sites often struggle at peak times.
