Everyone talks about Atlantas horrible traffic and plenty of existing rail lines. There’s lots of reason to do this.
However maybe there is not enough attention to the possibility of Georgia being left behind, a black hole in a potential future intercity rail system, missing any funding opportunities.
We have the Northeast Corridor as a very successful system, we have Brightline as a somewhat successful private system, we have Virginia and North Carolina at least investigating intercity rail routes. Up until this spring we had a real possibility of eventually connecting the entire east coast with service. Except for Georgia
