Eh, I think it'd be a bigger issue that the Federal govt is looking to buy foreign made subs / military kit, than it is for a provincial govt buying a civilian ferry from China (when no Canadian companies bothered to bid for it).

Even more if they're buying military stuff from the States, as the Orange Idiot openly says he's keen to sell sub-standard gear to their allies because "maybe they wont be our allies for long".

But yea, the publication could be biasing things to be a big "OH NO CHINA!" type thing.

Why? Because they wanted to receive a functional ferry in a timely manner, without absurd cost and time overruns that are par for the course for Irving?

I think Mark might want to look into the last time they tried to build ferries locally. Search up "Fastcat ferry BC".
