Because nothing says American freedom like unconditional loyalty to a Jewish supremacist settler colony.

There’s no way in hell that ‘ideology’ that supports the executive branch, as a requirement for funding, will survive the courts.

[–] atzanteol@sh.itjust.works 31 points 6 days ago

Allow me to introduce you to Unitary Executive Theory.

[–] N0t_5ure@lemmy.world 23 points 6 days ago

Most likely not, but it is not costless to have to fight that battle for those who need FEMA support. Even if they prevail, they've been punished for not submitting to Trump's ideological demands.

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 11 points 6 days ago

Even the current SCOTUS would reject this nonsense. OK, Alito and Thomas might be paid off, but still, the court would sink this.

OTOH, 34 states already have laws against boycotting Israel, and those haven't been torpedoed.

Anyone know how these BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) laws stand up in court?

We live in a dictatorship with no rule of law.

[–] NJSpradlin@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago

We still have SOME law. I want to see what they spin to make it legal to have FEDERAL LE pursue state senators for exercising their procedural and legal rights.

I’m hearing ‘taking bribes’ as what they’re going to go for… but, I want to see that stated under oath and in a court that doesn’t have a stooge presiding.

Why are we a part of the union again? Seems like conditional FEMA aid is not only illegal, but not beneficial to any state that is part of the union...

Let's compare Israel to a state, let's say Michigan. Michigan has slightly more people, a slightly higher GDP, and thus slightly higher GDP/capita.

By all accounts Michigan feeds it's money back into the U.S. economy, because well it's in the U.S.

Why does it seem like Israel has more support than Michigan? That country China, that everyone bitches about here saying they are our biggest threat... Does twice as much trade with Israel than the U.S.

If Israel can import Chinese products without paying the U.S. government tariffs,

maybe Michigan should be able to as well. After all, the federal government is paying far more money to support Israel than it is Michigan.

Then that's the answer.

US annexes Israel and makes it a US state.

Gaza - Returns to Egypt, Israel doesn't get it. Hamas doesn't get to rule it.

West Bank - Becomes internationally recognised as the nation of Palestine.

US annexes Israel and makes it a US state.

That is actually an excellent idea.

  • Israel will get the benefit of US security and Hamas will get crushed.
  • Israel doesn't have to pay any tariffs for exporting its technologies to the US AND get access to US defense budget
  • US have a military foothold in the middle east
  • Their values already are closer to the US than Canada

Fuck Canada, Israel should be the 51st State

This is the policy of "America first"

[–] 0li0li@lemmy.world 23 points 6 days ago (1 children)

America first! ...after Israel.

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 4 points 6 days ago

Yea they just neglected to finish the phrase. It's like "when in Rome" or "Make America Great Again... by raping children". You know the quiet part out loud thing.

States pay taxes to create federal funds.

I'm absolutely fine if blue states stop paying and just take care of their own.

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

Won't matter you won't be getting disaster funds regardless if you support Israel or not. So might as well stick to your guns.

[–] PalmTreeIsBestTree@lemmy.world 20 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Israel has cucked us so hard

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 18 points 6 days ago

AIPAC is a terrorist organization and should be ejected from America. Disgraceful how little money it takes to buy our legislators and on top of that, AIPAC has the antisemite stick to beat any holdouts.

Yet Mamdani is sure to score the mayoral election of our most Jewish city! Seems the line in the sand against this genocide is well received in NYC. Any Democrats listening?

[–] BetaBlake@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

Being a professional blackmailer country makes that happen.

[–] MapleEngineer@lemmy.world 8 points 6 days ago

Nothing says being on the right side of history like forced thought does.

[–] 332@feddit.nu 10 points 6 days ago

I barely know what to call this. We're beyond authoritarianism at this point, this is insane.
