Overview:

Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. This community is where we discuss the various different vehicles and news stories regarding electric transportation.

I wonder how much of this is because liberals now want to buy new internal combustion cars instead of EVs, versus buying used, versus not owning a car entirely?

A quick look at the underlying study, and figure 1 is fascinating to me, as somebody who really supports individual climate action - because it shows what individual climate mitigations are politically slanted and which aren't. Buying an EV? Super politically slanted. Flying less? Not.

I'm pretty much a typical liberal American and I wouldn't buy a Tesla, even if it was an amazing super deal

because my issue is with the touchscreen everything

i won't buy a EV that is trying to put a big fuckin tablet on the dashboard

so my options are extremely limited

I've got the funds and would love to have an EV but I will keep running my efficient 2008 bmw that is cheap to operate and is fully owned by me

VW has said they are returning to physical buttons. It will be interesting to see if other manufacturers do as well. I’m waiting to see what the next GM Bolt looks like, since the previous version had buttons.

Nope, it’s just Tesla.
