  • Paid time off
  • Free or low-cost summer camps and after-school programs
  • Further subsidize daycare education programs and wages so more qualified people enter (and stay) in the industry
  • At least 1 more statutory holiday during the summer

Would've made my childhood easier, that's for sure.

I completely agree with the gist of the article - employees need time to care for their families.

But there are a lot of cases where the state should be doing more to care for people. We don't do enough to support adults with medical problems; or help the elderly live safely and happily at home. It shouldn't always fall on family members to help those in need.
