Wow. I've never seen anything like that. Genuinely. Normally I have trouble just sitting down and watching something without my attention wandering at least a little but I'm not sure I've ever been in a situation where not only was I was paying 100% rapt attention but somehow it still didn't feel like 100% was enough.

holy shit that was a hell of a fever dream
I think I'm gonna need to rewatch this five more times to understand anything
I'm thinking of watching city. Is it good?
Yep
Thank you. I'll add it to my ptw list
Man, that was one hell of a ride. I don't think I remember seeing something so... experimental (?) before in anime. Man, I feel like I'll need to watch this a couple more times to catch everything and give it the attention it deserves. Kyoani really are in a league of their own.
I wasn't sure what to expect after the production team told people that episode 5 would show them something they've never seen before, but heavy use of mixed media claymation, what must be a new record of simultaneous split-screen footage and experimental animation techniques to focus on various details of a giant animated shot surprised me either way. I'm not sure if this episode will work for everyone, but it's honestly so technically impressive that you have to watch it. I'm sure that the staff had fun working on this, even with the amount of work it must have been.
While I enjoyed the first episode, I noticed that I liked subsequent episodes less and less. To the point where after episode 4 I started thinking of dropping the show.
And I’m really glad I’m sticking with it because this episode was really cool. Now looking forward to what they’ll come up with next. Tho I do hope that they don’t try to out do themselves and give us 16 simultaneous plots next.
It's the opposite for me. I've enjoyed each Episode more than the previous one, with the exception of some standout gags - like the yakisoba bag incident, which is a master class in direction, animation, setup and timing. It's probably one of my favorite animated scenes ever.
