Official Remaster is meh, so I hope this will be the "remaster" everyone wants.
I'm also very much interested in Skywind. Even more than this one, as Morrowind is one of my favorite games of all times.

I'm actually not that excited about Skywind myself as base Morrowind already has such a lively modding scene that is impossible to migrate over. With OpenMW, Tamriel Rebuilt and Project Cyrodiil the game just keeps getting better and better with time. I fully acknowledge that this is a very subjective opinion but I also feel like Morrowind doesn't translate over to a Skyrim-style gameplay nearly as well as Oblivion does. So much dialogue and random NPC banter will have to be cut out if they want to voice act every single NPC like they to plan to do.

Egrets from Skywind here. We're really not cutting anything in that regard (or really in any respect). For lines that are very repetitive, we might reduce the number of NPCs that deliver those lines to avoid auditory fatigue and immersion issues, and some lines are being tweaked to avoid feeling too encyclopedic in their delivery, but our ultimate solution is just a ton of voice actors (hundreds, literally) and a lot of work to implement them all.

Thank you for your reply! One of my favourite aspects of Morrowind is how I can just walk up to a random NPC and ask them about a generic thing like directions to a place I have to get to, local services available, important NPCs or just their trade or a little secret or advice (and how those act as a soft tutorial with useful gameplay tips often being mentioned). If you actually plan to implement and voice most of these I bow before your ambitions!
The dialogue system isn't identical, but we'll absolutely be including those features as dialogue options. We recently cast the last few open roles, including major characters, so although VA is a bigger job than in any published TES game, we're well on our way.

Can't even get the remaster working due to UE5 and causing huge graphical glitches on Intel cards.
Hope this remaster works better than that.

Have you played OG Oblivion? Are you okay with it? Then don't buy the Remaster. It was okay, but it was still basically the original Oblivion in a slightly prettier wrapper.
I have played the original when it came out for about a hundred hours, and I really enjoyed it.
Then as long as you're fine with the poor performance Oblivion remaster is excellent. It's Oblivion (almost) as you remember it, the main difference being the ability to sprint (which doesn't actually change) and fixed attribute points leveling (which I welcome because the original levelling system was stupid where you needed to level minor skills to get +5 bonuses for attributes).
The censorship, it's basically an asset flip, it's Bethesda, it's $60 for an over decade old game

I've only played the remaster.
It's just a year shy of being two decades old. Even Skyrim is over a decade old at this point.
It felt empty, clunky, and the quests were boring to me. I loved Skyrim and was expecting a similar experience, but it just wasn't anywhere close imo.
For me it was the other way around. With some very few exceptions I found the Skyrim quest boring and too afraid to do anything fantastic. Oblivion was way better in that regard, but lacking in dungeon diversity and action gameplay.
This also seems to be the general consensus among TES fans. Morrowind has the best roleplaying depth and potential, Oblivion has the best and most varied quests and Skyrim has the best level design and combat.
It being an actual remaster instead of a reimagining of the game is what people like and dislike.
I guess. It probably means I wouldn't have enjoyed the original Oblivion either. So I can't blame them much, I'm just not the target audience
