Please note the following:

* All chatrooms are linked together. If you join one room your messages will be copied to the other platforms.

* Matrix is an open source and potentially distributed chat protocol. The matrix room listed is hosted on matrix.org, a somewhat centralized hub for a lot of currently public rooms. Though the protocol itself is free, libre and open source, the deployment of the protocol resembles a centralized service. This may be fixed in the future with the deployment of independent servers.

* Be aware that both Telegram and Discord are centralized proprietary platforms and do not necessarily protect your rights nor privacy while simultaneously giving power to corporations.

We humans are moving in the wrong direction and greed/mismanagement/money is the cause. Basic income for all who apply! We do not need to squeeze the young and old just because the middle-class has already been squeezed too hard. This path we're on is unsustainable!

When I was younger, this was the case on the TTC, and it still pisses me off to this day.

I was a university student, I barely had any money at all. There were more than a few days where it was "do I take the bus this week, or do I buy some extra groceries?" and a full-price Metropass was out of the question. Older people, who owned their homes, had jobs and incomes, and, in many cases, cars, could get a discount. And this was in the 1990s, when old people, as a cohort, had less money than they do today.

Now, I'd rather see lower fares for everyone and congestion pricing for cars, but if I can have that, scrap the seniors discounts before scrapping ones for young people.

I moved from Ottawa 15 years ago. It's heartbreaking to see that OC Transpo still sucks shit.

I bought a car BECAUSE of them. have legit never taken a bus in the last 15 years because of how much they suck, continue to suck and will forever suck. I swear the amount of time I saved by them forcing my hand to buy a car, made me more efficient, earn more basically paid for the car. not to mention the constant increased fees with less service.
