thats from the bs people trying to keep the irs from doing it automatically. the compromise was the bs "free" offerings that are made to be annoying enough to upsell. free fillable forms is the closet we have now but thats just as the name implies submitting the forms in a digital format although it does do the math part automatically.
Nothing good is allowed to happen ever again.
I wonder if this will affect direct file programs implemented by states
