Before cloth was so insanely cheap, and used packs practically free, that was a hella multipurpose rig!
A square of cloth is too useful to be without when you're outdoors.
- Strain water
- Wipe your face
- Wet it and wrap it around your neck
- Wrap your neck when it's cold
- Tie it to a pole with your gear in it
I have a gaiter in both my water and land bags. Sometimes two!
Poles are handy!
- Walking stick for tough terrain
- Fighting other hobos
- Carrying your handkerchief
I carry a "spider yeetin' stick" in the summer. Monster orb weaver blocking the trail! Wrap her and yet her in the woods. Path clear, spider unharmed.
