He apparently hit a landmine on the way and survived that, too, finishing the trip on a second delivered e-bike.

I feel like this is the most remarkable fact in the article, and not the fact that the bike was delivered by drone.

Tangent: I clicked through to the YT vid, and in it was a real video of a real person really dying. It's remarkable how this isn't just allowed on YT, it's pretty commonplace now.

Also, as much as I love drones and I love excitement, that list of killer drones was so disheartening. It sucks that we have to be so creative in violent ways.

I fully support Ukraine though. Fuck Putin.

Yeah it's been kind of crazy how when it comes to the Ukraine war people seem to not only have zero issue posting straight-up gore on major websites, but also completely neglect to add trigger warnings. Society always cared about these things before but the rules get exempted specifically for this conflict. It could be merely because both sides here have good surveillance technology and a desire to demoralize each via information war but it also feels like a biased exception on the part of my fellow westerners sharing this stuff where there'd normally be a bunch of people reporting and censoring it. Like oh, they're Russians and Russians are always our nemeses, so it's OK because it's personal for us. Or some shit like that. As if that somehow changes or invalidates the hard facts of alienation and trauma.

That list really was hard to read.

That we still pour hot things on enemies, idk why, that made me feel nauseous. Like, we're the same brutal sadistic species as we were centuries ago. Nothing really changed.

"You mean you'll put down your rock and I'll put down my sword and we'll try to kill each other like civilized people?"

There's few gear that I wish more than a drone that brings me my bike when I need it (and secures it away when I don't). That's the dream.

Why didn't the eagles simply drop Frodo an e-bike?

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has placed unbelievable pressure on drone developers on both sides of the war, who have responded with astounding innovations that include, among others:

Drones that release flaming thermite into trenches

Hello thermal weapon, old friend.
