Super man would hate what America has become.

Much more SFW than what their 'mascot' the Punisher would be doing to them.

Supes is showing restraint, too. You know that guy would be missing a head, vaporized into the wind.

Hell, Homelander would be embarassed by some of the stuff the GOP is doing.

Superman still fighting a faceless, obscure, masked villain that is far to easy to punch in the face

ICE do understand that by hiding themselves and masking up, that they are far too easy to identify as a faceless villain. But then again, if they are dumb enough to want to hide themselves, how would you expect them to understand the implications of that.

Sure, because we need the lesson right now that beating underlings will fix things...

... it's nothing to do with Capitalism or "the American way" that Superman was an icon of. He is from the 1950s after all. He's probably a wealthy boomer who bought multiple homes with a single pay check.

Also he wears red, white, and blue everywhere. He's jingoistic. He might even be a fox news watching Trump supporter who sees in simple terms of "good" (us) and "bad" (them). He's not about to solve complex problems.

His powers aren't about to be useful for electoral oversight, or making sure representatives actually represent the will of the masses.

This is the whole problem, this is part of why Marvel movies are symptoms of society being unable or unwilling to face and correct complex problems in meaningful ways.

..."and then Superman beat up the bad guys" is probably not a helpful sentiment. Imagine a superman who has to do that for 50 Republicans in a row, installs a Democrat dictatorship and then they keep all of Trump's changes and start getting rich and hanging out with the oligarchs. Normal people try to enter politics but it takes years and by the end of the election cycles of career building they end up dead, or brainwashed and corrupt, taking money from the same people, doing the same corrupt things.

Maybe Superman even becomes involved in politics, because let's face it - he too is political propaganda.

The message we need right now is that fascists can expect to be beaten if they show themselves in public. How the hell did young patriotic, gun-loving, republican americans go from killing Nazis in Europe to being Nazis themselves in just 80 years?

Fascists love superheroes.
