Stop using the internet.

Or participate in whatever underground mesh networking replacement crops up to replace it.

I wonder if that will be !meshtastic@mander.xyz ?

I was hoping to screw around on it for fun with a potential resurgence of the BBS era that I just missed out on, but at this rate I'll be on it because of dystopian reasons as well :(

There are actually a bunch of options to the old www. There is the smolweb, dark web and legacy protocols like gopher to escape to.

Even new ones like Gemini.

I'll probably stop using as much as I can.

Research VPNs, more importantly get up to date about stuff like Snowflake, to have a backup once VPNs are illegal.

I'll probably look into getting a residential VPN from somewhere where the verification isn't required, for as long as it will be feasible.

Get back to pirating music and all the other content they won't let me access.

Torrent sites don't ask for ID.

IPTV doesn't ask for ID.

Stremio doesn't ask for ID.

Well, for whatever I have the choice of not using it I will not be using it anymore. It's not worth it.

Disclaimer: for the last few years I've started limiting my online activities and have been doing it a lot more drastically for the last couple years. So, it won't come as huge change as far as I'm concerned.

Go back to using smoke signals and horns for semi long distance communication.

Depends, the EU seems to actually have a decently prepared system, using zero knowledge proofs. If it's that, my privacy would not be harmed, but would still prove I'm allowed to view the page.

As for the situation where every site needs a photo ID, I might just go live in a cabin in the woods or something

Edit because I'm being downvoted: I do not support the idea of locking down parts of the internet behind any kind of identification. The question is "what would you do if it happened" not "how would you like to see it implemented".
