~~Font Awesome is currently experiencing an outage, so many webpages will have a broken UI or even broken functionality if there was any tied to icons (ask me how I know)~~

It has been fixed. Back to work!

Unless you need to supply an arbitrary FA icon It’s more performant to import SVG symbols.

I think most affected sites will just have broken social media icons in their footers that nobody was going to click anyway.

For Vue definitely, but I assume for the other big js frameworks you can easily just make it so font awesome is bundled with your app.
