At $799, the Nothing Phone 3 is competing with devices like the Pixel 9 and OnePlus 13, both of which have it beat in the camera department, and the OnePlus phone is faster.

Similar price to a OnePlus, with worse performance...what is the point of this guy's new company again?

Software. Everyone gets hung up on the hardware aesthetic and all, especially with this new phone's more... "questionable" design compared to the last ones, which were debatably more "cool." Nothing's supposed specialty is the software side, which goes beyond just a simple minimal monochrome skin or some fancy text.

According to most my friends with Nothing phones, it's all the little details and refinements... but yeah, I'd still buy a Phone (2) or 3a before this since it's otherwise an underpowered flagship. This formula's great when undercutting the competition price-wise, but this phone just feels like a substantial price bump SOLELY for a better processor... and still not the best one.

Nothing's original phones and it's sub brand CMF was not focused on US market at all and could only be bought via developer programmer there. It was more geared towards India and the prices matched the specifications there.

IIRC, Nothing's original phones were made in southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu and it's previous top tier phone was less than half this price here in India. But with this one, they jumped the gun and made a harrowing decision.

They still have a good array of products in form of Cmf phones (I was close to buying one until I saw it lacked a 3.5mm jack) and earbuds for lower end of the market but they really are being over optimistic here.

They are really good budget phones with a rare focus on standing out visually, but not this phone

Yeah. Nah. Not the bitchboy.

I really dislike the name "Nothing".

Still running and loving my nothing phone 2 but not going to upgrade to this. they missed the feature set and price point I was looking for. Probably going to go pixel and GrapheneOS next

The writers and editors had every opportunity to do journalism but could not stop themselves from grabbing the cheapest turn of phrase available and make it the headline, huh?
