I’ve always been curious about getting the collected edition of this one. Anyone read it and willing to provide a non-spoiler review and assessment?

You can talk all you want about how Rob Liefeld is trash, Bob Kane is an asshole, or Frank Miller and Dave Sim’s politics have made them toxic, that’s all good.
If, however, another user is LEGITIMATELY a fan of something you don’t like, that does NOT make them a lesser person. Attack the art for being bad, not the person for being a fan of bad art.
* I lied. There are TWO rules... No piracy. Cover shots? That's good. Interior pages, in moderation? Sure. Full books? Links to pirate sites? That's how we get things shut down. :(
I'm not saying it's been a problem, because it hasn't been.

I literally just got the collected edition. I read the series as it was coming out and liked it enough to add it to my collection. The price was right I guess but it's paperback. I sort of doubt I'm gonna be about to read that giant tome without fucking up the spine. Annoying!
I like pretty much all of the Hickman books that ive read, so probably a little biased, but i thought this series was great. I didn't feel like there were any characters that were wasted, which was surprising given the enormous cast introduced through the series. The world building is sort of bleak, but I also found the specific set pieces, like Armistace, to be really beautifully developed. My impression is that Dragotta's art improved over the series run, and Hickman's writing stayed consistently good.

I read it and I really liked it. The ending isn't everything I had hoped for but the world is great and well explored, the art is so weird yet so real, and the whole thing is long enough to feel full but not so long that it drags. It isn't my favorite comic book of all time, but it is easily top 10. I hope you will enjoy it like I did.
