Welcome to a Star Trek community where you’re free to chat and share your opinions about all things Trek!

I want to have a place where fans can come to praise, discuss, and even criticise things in the Star Trek franchise. No show or movie is perfect, and I don't believe people should be silenced for having a dissenting opinion. That being said, there are still a few rules.

Be Nice - No personal attacks. You can disagree with someone's opinion, but it needs to stop there.

No Slurs - This is applicable to ethnicity, religion, gender, or anything else.

No Adult Content - Keep it family friendly.

No Spamming or Trolling - Consistently spamming comments or trolling is just not needed.

Please keep topics Trek related or Trek adjacent for the most part, and have fun!

I really enjoyed this episode! It might have just caught me in the right mood, but it was pretty fun. I got a chuckle out of all the little mannerisms that Mount was doing as his character. (probably because I know a few people that fold their hands over their stomach!) I found Wesley's take as the captain humorous, and the Riker maneuver got a laugh as well! I had guessed the plot twist fairly early, but I wasn't entirely sure due to Spock not being seen. It still was pretty interesting to see everything laid out though.

I'm a little annoyed about the La'an and Spock romance that they were teasing in the earlier episodes, but hopefully they don't go too heavy on it. It would be nice if they could do more platonic friendships instead of seemingly everyone being romantically attracted, but it seems that's par for the course. If they can tell some good stories I'll be fine with it!

Overall I would probably give this one a 7.5 or 8. I definitely enjoyed it in the moment, but I would still prefer some deeper stories. It appears we may get some of them later in the season though.

I love that the avatars are only able to be from teleporter logs lol.

That does keep things interesting! It does make me wonder who the dead executive was though!

and the Riker maneuver got a laugh as well!

I was laughing at that, and then I saw Riker was the director! Of course there was a Riker maneuver in it.

Any idea who was the Argoynian?

It was neat to get to hear, what is presumably, Jess Bush's real voice.

Yeah, they did the same thing in Those Old Scientists too! I'm pretty sure Jack Quaid said his was ad-libbed because Frakes was directing.

I'm not sure who was underneath all the makeup, the voice didn't sound familiar to me. I liked the whole costume though!

Jess sounded a little bit different than she does in interviews, but it was pretty close to her regular voice!

I just saw that Kira Guloien, who plays the bartender from Wedding Bell Blues, is listed as the Agonyan on the Memory Alpha page. When I get a moment I'll have to compare the two appearances!

This episode made me happy.

I know it is not a deep analysis or discussion, but I wanted just to express my feeling. This is what I like about SNW. This mix of serious and wacky episodes. :)

It did the same thing for me! I lurk on a few other Star Trek communities, and I was surprised at the negativity I was seeing about it. While I can understand some of it, (I personally would like to see a slightly higher ratio of serious episodes) I find I usually enjoy the more humorous episodes!
