4. Stay on-topic; no memes, funny videos, giveaways, reposts, or low-effort posts
This community is mostly for discussion and news. Remember to search for the thing you're submitting before posting to see if it's already been posted.
We want to keep the quality of posts high. Therefore, memes, funny videos, low-effort posts and reposts are not allowed. We prohibit giveaways because we cannot be sure that the person holding the giveaway will actually do what they promise.
5. Mark Spoilers and NSFW
Make sure to mark your stuff or it may be removed.
No one wants to be spoiled. Therefore, always mark spoilers. Similarly mark NSFW, in case anyone is browsing in a public space or at work.
6. No linking to piracy
Don't share it here, there are other places to find it. Discussion of piracy is fine.
We don't want us moderators or the admins of lemmy.world to get in trouble for linking to piracy. Therefore, any link to piracy will be removed. Discussion of it is of course allowed.

Kind of dumb to set the auto-reply to a Welsh text, you’d expect that people needing the services of a Welsh translator won’t be able to understand the text.
That page won't open for me because it's http only, won't upgrade to https, and my browser won't allow it.

As someone who understands Czech, playing Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was torture.
What I wouldn't give for a new Deus Ex game. The only news I ever read about one is another cancellation.
Robocop has a similar vibe, albeit a Fisher Price version. And weirdly the new Indiana Jones game kind of scratches that itch, where you're wandering around an open environment, with multiple access points and secrets hidden away that'll reward those paying attention. Neither come close to just how detailed and cool the Deus Ex games were though.
Cry, play GMDX, Prey 2017 or System Shock 2 again
Or wait for Judas or Core Decay to come out
So, as a born and raised Czech I shouldn't play it?
You will have a lot of unintended fun and cringe moments regarding the language. Apartheid-style benches for non-augmented people only with a sign "Přirozené pouze" makes me laugh and cringe to this day. Prague's Old town is translated as "Starý čtvrt", which is just sad.
It's an okay game otherwise. Not nearly as good as Human Revolution, but good enough to scratch that DE itch.
A good game weighed down by its faults.

It's a mix of a lounge and laundry room!
And loud too with all that shooting.
That game is such a blast. I finished my first play through and immediately went for NG+.
I tried playing it on the steam deck but it had a huge, weird dead zone on the right thumb stick which I couldn't fix. I'll have to try on the desktop.
Don't know if this counts as a meme or not but if it does get deleted it would probably be welcome at !gaming@lemmy.world
Cheers, I never know with all the similarly-named communities on the various instances. Downside of the fediverse is often not knowing where the best place to post something is.
Most definitely! Gaming is especially annoying since it has three communities that are all very active and basically mirror images of eachother:

They are all fairly "serious" with a focus on news, articles and discussion. On the other hand !gaming@lemmy.world is much less so and is pretty much the primary place for general gaming memes.
