Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

"Please don't free the person who helped you rape our family member"

Someone needs to fire the writing staff, the latest 10 seasons of Reality: The Show have really sucked.

You were still participating?? lmao 😂 I stopped 25 years ago 👍

[–] ShrimpCurler@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 2 days ago

I'm afraid if you're still breathing, then you're still a participant.

I was gonna say that things turned to shit 25 years ago, but that's a really anglo-centric view. Also, I wasn't ready to face that more than half my life has been spent watching my country erode itself and the rest of the world. I keep trying to push buttons to see if I can invoke change, but it seems like these controls I was given when I turned 18 might not be connected to anything.

We need Trump in prison, not urging Trump anything

Yeah its so strange to watch people treat Trump as a good guy. What the hell is going on. I can only assume Americans are overworked and overstressed and cant think anymore. I probably would be too in that country.

Trump will always do what is in his own best interest, money or power wise. He gives zero fucks about anyone else.

Americans have this fetishist concept that presidents are exemplary individuals...

[–] slaneesh_is_right@lemmy.org 6 points 2 days ago

Preaidents are celebrities in america and celebrities get worshipped

[–] jbloggs777@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 2 days ago

They have a fetishist concept that anyone with a business empire is someone to be admired. They probably think they have a chance, the fools.

They didn't for Biden but idc system is broken

[–] Sabata11792@ani.social 4 points 2 days ago

Prison is not enough.

[–] Lucky_777@lemmy.world 26 points 2 days ago

Trump doesn't give two shits about anyone but DJT. If it doesn't benefit him, then he won't entertain. This family will be the bug under his boot.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 22 points 2 days ago

Calling him that probably won't make trump listen to them...

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 2 days ago

Oh, well in that case, he'll refuse the deal they worked out where she would exonerate him and blame all his perceived enemies. I mean, cause he cares more about doing the right thing than he does covering his own ass.

Thanks goodness this family prevented more fraud by speaking up.

[–] adespoton@lemmy.ca 10 points 2 days ago

I don’t think that line will pull any weight with Trump? At least not in the direction they want….

[–] Gork@sopuli.xyz 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Ghislaine can probably get herself out of this by swearing under oath that Trump never knew Epstein (conveniently ignore all the photos of them for the moment) in exchange for a pardon.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 days ago

She might be easier to wack outside of prison. Would be interesting if that happened.
