Once again my recs give me some gold. Today I post the opener from Anciient's 2024 LP. This is probably best described as progressive death/sludge metal, with some elements of melodic death metal in there as well. It's got clean sung passages and growling at certain points and the whole atmosphere is very otherworldly throughout, with blast beats to mark an explosive end.

Season of Mist is probably my favorite label. They represent some of the best underground heavy bands in the world. Check out Gaerea and Thy Catafalque, too if you haven't. BASK also has an album coming soon. They're like if Sleep Token mixed in country instead of pop.

Seems like my recs just got a boost, thanks for that lol. I was curiously peeking at that Season of Mist bandcamp and saw stuff that looked intriguing so.. you bet your sweet bippy I'm gonna check out more xD.
