Crime Stoppers Update: Death Investigation: I-75/85 Southbound & Andrew Young International Blvd.

Investigators with the Atlanta Police Department’s Homicide Unit are seeking information in the fatal highway incident that occurred on I-75/85 SB near Andrew Young International Blvd (Exit 248 C) on July 27, 2025, sometime between 9:00 p.m. and 9:41 p.m.

What We’re Asking the Public:Death Investigation - Connector & Andrew Young - Crime Stoppers - 252081727

Preliminary Information: The Atlanta Police Department is actively investigating a fatal incident that occurred on the evening of July 27, 2025, on I-75/85 Southbound near Exit 248C (Andrew Young International Blvd). Preliminary investigation indicates that during a physical altercation between Barry Walker (victim) and another unidentified individual on the right shoulder of the highway, Mr. Walker fell into the roadway and was struck by a white or light-colored sedan. The driver briefly pulled over after the impact but then left the scene without speaking to law enforcement.

Barry Walker was later found deceased on the right side of the expressway. At this time, neither the individual involved in the altercation with Mr. Walker nor the driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene. Investigators are seeking to identify and speak with both individuals.

Investigators are asking for anyone with information on this case to contact homicide detective C. Flower at(470) 985-8013or to submit a tip to Crime Stoppers.
