He raped kids. How can anyone still support him? At what point do people see that they voted for:

  • A serial rapist
  • A child rapist
  • A convicted felon
  • A narcissist
  • A lier
  • A cheater
  • Thief and someone that doesn't pay hardworking people
  • .... I mean the list is longer but still
  • A bad business man (casino's make money, right?)

He is actively ruining America. But if you are all for it. What the damn hell.

"But they said our taxes will be lower so he's a good guy in my book" /s

[–] slaneesh_is_right@lemmy.org 4 points 2 days ago

He still has a thing called "approval rating" he is still preaident, he's still alive. So it's just nonsense

[–] slaneesh_is_right@lemmy.org 11 points 2 days ago

He's so slammed now.

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

ooh chuck schumer is gonna write an even harsher letter to the white house. this time he might not doodle hearts in the margins

President Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen to just 40 percent, the lowest since his return to the White House,

Quotes like this just piss me off, call me when he drops below 33% which is his historical ledge that he doesn't seem to go under, until it hits that, he'll be fine.

[–] Steve@startrek.website 114 points 3 days ago (7 children)

40% of the country supports their childfucker-in-chief

[–] fluxion@lemmy.world 58 points 3 days ago (1 children)

83% of Republicans approve of this Epstein sex trafficker in chief

[–] lennybird@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I want to meet the 3% of Democrats who continue supporting the fucker.

[–] possumparty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 2 days ago

It's 1.5 million John Fetterman's.

[–] xyzzy@lemmy.today 14 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Chuck Schumer can hardly wait to send more sternly-worded questions in a letter!

[–] UltraMagnus0001@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Democrats are a bunch of pussies. We need more outspoken like jasmine Crockett

I want a president who is just as cruel as Trump but towards republicans and their voters. I want to see them belittled and insulted and mocked constantly on the national stage for the next 10-15 years to balance the scales. I want to see the president lie constantly about their mandatory reform plans for the red states and troll/distract them with extreme executive overreach on inconsequential issues that piss off the MAGAts most with a "What are you gonna do about it, pussy?" attitude or just say it out loud at the podium to rile them up. I want them to keep the current level of ICE funding and dedicate all of it to hunting down radical right wing hate groups and sending THEM to El Salvador, then disband it when the mission is done. I want them to sign executive orders and implement policies that takes every single one of the right wing media's insane talking points and dials it up to 11. Every time the right squeals move further to the left until they piss themselves. Force redistricting in every red state in a way that unfairly favors democrats. Pass federal voter suppression laws that make it easier for the originally targeted demographics to vote while disenfranchising rural whites. Go after churches that get political, ban them from funding candidates and revoke their tax-exempt status, capping it off with an "Inshallah" post on Xitter. Allow Blue States to opt out of their federal taxpayer funds being sent to red states as long as they continue to be shitbags and make it an official policy in those exact words. Pack the supreme court and fuck shit up on OUR behalf. I want the next Dem president to show some fucking teeth and fight dirty.

Basically I want a president whose platform is "Sit down, shut the fuck up, get with the program and also fuck you".

That'd require a media mogul (like Fox) batting for us. None do.

There is a very serious rot in the USA. It's the kind of rot that says empathy is a sin and that kindness is weakness. It's the kind of rot that says hate and bigotry are good, and kindness and acceptance are what's wrong with society. That America is best when it is what Liberals say is worst. And don't delude yourself. The rot is much higher than the 40% cited in this poll, for 100% of the Republicans and a decent chunk of independents would vote for the shitgibbon over anything on the Left because they've drank the koolaid from Team Red about Team Blue. And if that's not bad enough, enough Team Blue has drunk the Russian koolaid and will stay home or vote third party to enable Team Red to steal things and break shit.

They'd rather a 'childfucker-in-chief' to borrow Steve's line than have a Dem in charge. Both groups.

There is a very serious rot in the USA. It’s the kind of rot that says empathy is a sin and that kindness is weakness.

It's really just old fashioned decadence and depravity fueled by wealth inequality. Billionaire elites spend billions on GOP propaganda network to con people into unintentially giving them gigantic GOP tax cuts.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (2 children)

I'd never vote for any republican for any reason. But I'd also never vote for anyone who enables war crimes. So I left my vote for president blank when I filled out the rest of the ballot. And then my state went for Harris anyway. But I hear I am the worst person in the rworld and this whole thing is because of me.

Its all a big joke.

I had voted straight blue my whole life and thats over. For me and a lot of people I think. THAT is a lasting problem. The base just isnt solid anymore. Too much taking it for granted. Any "big tent" big enough to maximize vacuuming up every possible donor's check is going to end up being too constrained and untrusted to effect any change at all-- because we cant piss off any future segment of donors. And so we all end up aiding war crimes. The tent is so big and donor centric that it's unable to serve its constituents.

[–] Feathercrown@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

That's supposed to be what the primaries are for

[–] MagicShel@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 days ago

I disagree with your stance on the presidential ballot but I respect your position. You aren't any more responsible for Trump's actions than I would be for Kamala's. There was no one on the ballot (who could win) who was going to do anything about Gaza. For me that meant moving on to other issues. Nothing I did in that voting booth would do Palestinians any immediate good, but there were other differences between the candidates and I cast my vote on the basis of things I could affect.

But at the end of the day you and I want the same things. Why fight you when the real enemies are so clear? Even if you don't vote for the President, you're still voting for Congress and the Senate and that is crucial, too. Truth is Trump wouldn't be a problem if he didn't control the whole shebang. Mate, I appreciate everyone who filled out a ballot to make themselves heard.

[–] lemmy_outta_here@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Dear Daily Beast:

Please pause all Trump Approval Rating articles until his approval hits Ceaucescu levels.

Then, by all means, loop me in! Live coverage would be best.

Sincerely, Every person who didn't vote for Trump

[–] MangioneDontMiss@lemmy.ca 10 points 2 days ago

as if it matters

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 37 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The only approval rating that matter are the House and Senate. Otherwise, he remains president.

[–] btaf45@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago

The only approval rating that matter are the House and Senate.

This is a good time to point out that the 2 seat GOP majority in the House was stolen. 16 GOP seats are from gerrymandering. An actually representative congress would have a 14 seat Dem majority.

https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/research-reports/how-gerrymandering-tilts-2024-race-house

And Texas is going to increase the 16 stolen gerrymandring seats to 21 stolen GOP seats because they don't think that 16 stolen seats will be enough in the next election.

https://www.opb.org/article/2025/07/30/new-texas-redistricting-plan-could-achieve-trump-s-aims/

[–] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago (1 children)

40% of Americans still support him

A month ago it was 45%

I hope this means anything good

[–] MikeRotch@aussie.zone 10 points 2 days ago (1 children)

But if 31.8% (49.8% of 63.9%) of the country voted for him, and that was enough for the Fanta Menace to get in, 40% is sadly an improvement.

Shame on the 36.1% of those who don't care enough about their country to have bothered voting.

Hopefully the Trump government will be the kick in the face Murica needs to wake up.

[–] nfamwap@feddit.uk 6 points 2 days ago

Spoiler: it wont

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 25 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Until it is at 0 it’s still too high.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 5 points 2 days ago

I need it to somehow be in the negatives

[–] leadore@lemmy.world 22 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Not clicking on yet another clickbait "feel-good" article, but what is it this time-41%? Because every "New Low!!!1!" reported on is always in the low to mid 40's. Always.

And I just saw somewhere else his disapproval rating was 55% and then Fox is claiming the GOP is doing so well it’s a miracle. They can’t keep their lies straight.

[–] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 days ago

40% now, but that doesn’t actually mean anything.

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 3 points 1 day ago

Until he is hanging around a gas station, I assume that approval rating means nothing.

[–] BigMacHole@sopuli.xyz 28 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I'm a Republican and why would I NOT like the Man who Raped Children with Jeffrey Epstein and ELIMINATED my Healthcare? That's just GOOD Policy! Now EXCUSE me I have a DRAG SHOW to bring a GUN to to Save The Children!

[–] TheCriticalMember@aussie.zone 3 points 2 days ago

Just like Jesus would want!

[–] the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world 16 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (2 children)

Every time I see a new headline about is approval rating its the same headline yet some how he is still in office. It seems almost as if the U.S isn't actually a democracy after all.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 8 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Because the US system is that there is an election every four years and only every four years even if the leader does a horrendous job. In Canada, if enough people are unhappy with the government, we have processes for calling an early election

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Trump has openly said he plans on there being no more elections.
