cooked my first meal after moving into my new place!

Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.
Rules…
- Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
- Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
- Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
- No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
- New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.
I’m a day late, but I finally fulfilled my childhood dream of visiting Alaska! In the early 90s, I saw a commercial on tv about visiting Alaska. I called the number provided and received a packet of things to do and vacations to take there. I spent every following year selecting Alaska for any report on a state I had to do for school.
The trip was AMAZING! I’m so happy I went and I will definitely be visiting again. It was very refreshing to take a vacation somewhere I’ve always wanted to go. Denali even came out of the cloud one morning so we could see the giant mountain from the hotel!! 😍
I managed to schedule everything for the breast biopsy without going feral on the medical imaging people even if they were being very silly.
"Two locations can do that imaging!"
"Location A please"
"That location has no appointments!"
"...B then???"
I went to another leatherworking workshop, this time mainly to learn how to work with zips on leather projects. Whilst the course itself went really well (pic of what we made below) I feel my win was that I brought in some of my recent projects and had so many people gushing about them and complimenting me on my work!
The even bigger win is that they even suggested that we might be able to work up some kind of relationship where I can produce patterns for their future workshops! I'm now thinking of an idea that would be good for those kinds of workshops and producing a pattern to a higher standard for them to look at (with things like stitch lines, step by step illustrated instructions etc.)
This is what we made, a little purse with card pockets, unintentional but it ended up looking a bit like the colours of the aromantic and asexual pride flags (the back side is very dark grey/black)?
I'm not surprised they were gushing cos that is incredible it looks like something you'd buy in a shop. You've really got the gift, and I know you've worked hard so I'm so glad you're sharing it. Well done
I've been making the effort to eat healthier and my ibs has been less reactive.
Went swimming in the rain yesterday. Can recommend, you'll have the whole lake to yourself!
But, you'll get wet!
My partner got a job at a haircutting chain! After a few months of working at a salon where she couldn't find clients, having a stable scheduled gig for haircutting is a HUGE deal for her. I'm so proud 🥰🥰
For me, I started talking to my mother again. She called me recently on my birthday to reconnect and it was wonderful. After over a year of no contact I'm just so thrilled to have my mother in my life again. It's still tense as she learns to navigate my boundaries but she's being receptive instead of combative this time.
That's huge Arson! Mothers are key figures and it's tense but hopeful. What are you realistically hoping for?
The big one is that I need her to respect me as an adult. The parenting stopped when I was 13 and picked back up again after my first marriage 8 years ago and the relationship has been tense since then.
As long as she can accept that I've grown and blossomed into a fully fledged adult and treat me as such, I'm happy. I just don't want all my life choices questioned by someone who can't physically see the material conditions I'm in to lead to such choices (we have about 2000 miles between us).
I went on a date last Friday
Oooooh how did it go?
Alright. We went for this sort of all you can eat sit down restaurant. Had sushi in the name but it's more a general east-asian place
Sounds ok
I spoke to my friend recently. He's a really nice man, and he really likes and respects women. I feel warm whenever I talk to him.
Talk of serial violence... I've started watching Outlander and I really like it. I hate the endless rape but I love the show so think I might just skip the rape episodes. Love the show though!
I've been meaning to watch Outlander for a while, glad to hear good things about it.
It's a good watch! The traumatic bits are grim though I googled and pretty much everyone hates the endless rape.
I bought a pretty dress and some pretty skirts and when I turn around they go swoosh and it makes me feel giddy and I just thought I should share that :3
