Yeah last time we named a space-thing Eris, Pluto stopped being a planet. Maybe it's a bad idea.

“She’ll be right!”

Went farther than Ranger 1 did.

New audio/text meme format dropped:

OK

we're going
we're going
we're going

it's going
it's going
it's going
it's going

OHH OK

it's hovering
it's hovering
it's hovering
it's hovering

it's gone!
It's gone!

OHH NO

it didn't go

Once again:

The Simpsons already did it.

Sounds like an episode of ED in a cold winter night.

Engine start, hold down clamps released, cleared the launch tower (juuust), I give this rocket launch 3.5/10, definite room for improvement.

[–] No1@aussie.zone 2 points 3 days ago

A crashing success?

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago

They overcomplicate it by using rocket engines. They should just released the ground harness and let it fall into space.

Keep at it.

I drove back from Cairns to Victoria point in one hit once. 22 hours I think. Ex wife drove all of 90 minutes of it. Only stopped for fuel. I was quite a Zombie by the time we got back. Do not recommend, would not do again.

wow! I've done Melbourne - Townsville in two days but that was with two drivers. And I thought that was bonkers

[–] DiaDeLosMuertos@aussie.zone 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Well that certainly was bonkers I agree.

I've done Melbourne to Brisbane over two days and that was me driving a four Cylinder four speed Holden Sunbird. That was in 1998 before lots of the motorways were built ( I think, or at least bypasses )

[–] imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Oh no! Not even the six cylinder full Torrie UC? Not awesome. I have done a lot of miles in an old sandman and that was made for highways

Well I had just got back from travelling Africa for five months so it was a breeze in comparison. But yeah I heard you. And nice, a Sandman. Betcha wish you still had that baby.

[–] imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone 2 points 2 days ago

Yeah it was mighty.
