President Trump acknowledged that Jeffrey Epstein recruited one of his victims, Virginia Giuffre, from Mar-a-Lago, and distanced himself from the allegations: “By the way, she had no complaints about us.”

Couldn't he just release the Epstein files anyway? Since they're a hoax, who cares?

[–] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 91 points 3 days ago (3 children)

Remember when republicans went on and on about Biden being a pedophile? I’m starting to think that they don’t actually care about pedophiles all that much.

Every accusation is a projection of themselves

Enough of their members will care. The ultra wealthy backers are no doubt above it all, even if they're not the kind of actively participate. But we're heading into serious taboo territory here. Like more taboo than murder in many people's eyes.

This one could actually stick.

Yup, being a kiddie fucker ain't tolerated.

This is how I feel as well. He's on record talking about walking around backstage of beauty pageants and also talking about "grabbing them by the pussy" because he was rich.

Everyone knew what he was, it didn't matter, words don't matter to fascists.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 days ago

They care a lot about deflecting attention from their pedophile.

[–] Ganbat@lemmy.dbzer0.com 102 points 3 days ago (1 children)

"Yeah, my friend was a pedo human trafficker and he got some of his victims from my business and I knew about it and hid it and... uh... Hillary's E-mails did it."

[–] snausagesinablanket@lemmy.world 25 points 3 days ago

Is this before or after Joe Biden infiltrated pedo island on his bicycle?

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 32 points 3 days ago (1 children)

He stole my underage slave! 🫲🍊🫱

[–] Mamdani_Da_Savior@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Trump wanted to fuck that 15 year old but Epstein got to her first.

So to replay what he just said, but with some coherence:

Epstein was scouting Mar-A-Lago for underage girls, because he knew Trump hired underage girls. Then it happened enough times that Trump himself, a billionare with other problems, heard about it. Trump then directly told Epstein "get outta here."

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 46 points 3 days ago (4 children)

Why are underaged girls being hired in the first place? Why is anyone underaged being hired at a golf resort?

[–] ruuster13@lemmy.zip 31 points 3 days ago (1 children)

He didn't kick Epstein out of there to protect the girls...

[–] zero@fek.xyz 18 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I had the same question and I found this - https://www.dol.gov/general/topic/youthlabor/agerequirements

As a general rule, the FLSA sets 14 years old as the minimum age for employment, and limits the number of hours worked by minors under the age of 16.

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Why not close this to avoid pedophile issues? Oh nevermind. /s

I mean, you'd have to change our whole world order for that. A lot of people under 18 need jobs to support their family or themselves. Hell, even with wealthier families it's not uncommon for kids to have weekend or summer jobs to save up or have some pocket money.

The real issue is why is Trump hiring them to be around his "place of residence".

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 3 days ago (2 children)

A lot of people under 18 need jobs to support their family or themselves

Which is NOT the case in a well-functioning society. Childhood and adolescence is supposed to be for playing, growing up, and learning, not being responsible for you and your family not starving.

Hell, even with wealthier families it's not uncommon for kids to have weekend or summer jobs to save up or have some pocket money.

Fair. Though that completely contradicts your reason for it to be NECESSARY for children to work.

Doing some low stress work for extra money like 15 hours a week or less is probably fine, but I highly doubt that either applies to the underage employees at the Mango Mussolini's overpriced roach motel BEFORE they get trafficked into sex slavery, let alone after.

The real issue is why is Trump hiring them to be around his "place of residence".

You know why.

[–] MintyFresh@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

I don't know. I think children benefit from some labor. Not like down the coal mine labor, certainly not whatever the fuck trump and his pedophile buddies got going on.

But being part of a functioning, productive unit. Maybe learn a practical skill or two. Burn off some energy and build some muscle.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip -3 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Which is NOT the case in a well-functioning society.

Say you're middle class without actually saying it.

[–] Ibuthyr@feddit.org 2 points 2 days ago

You kinda forgot about the whole well-functioning society bit there.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I'm not, no, but thanks for making an ass out of yourself by trying to make me out to be one, I guess 🤷

[–] zero@fek.xyz 11 points 3 days ago

So he can "grab em by the pussy".

And doing massages in a spa to adults.

Every confession is a confession...

wait, let me start over.

[–] als@lemmy.blahaj.zone 36 points 3 days ago

A lot if self-reports going on

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 45 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Just gonna point out that you don't "steal" people, you steal things. Which tells you all you need to know about trump.

[–] Rentlar@lemmy.ca 9 points 3 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Poaching workers is a real term... but stealing them in this context makes me shiver.

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago

Poaching at least implies a living creature.

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 31 points 3 days ago

Not what a pedophile would say at all.

[–] kingofras@lemmy.world 28 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Here too, it’s important to point out the events leading up to her “suicide” are highly suspicious and can’t be corroborated by local police or her relatives. This happened right after Trump came back to power.

[–] zero@fek.xyz 23 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Not the first person to get into a car crash, considering she directly accused Prince Andrew. Just read the comments on her Instagram post before her suicide and it's fucked up.

Attached image from the NY Times article.

A widely published photograph showed Prince Andrew with his hand around Ms. Giuffre’s waist; he said he had no memory of the occasion. Ghislaine Maxwell, Mr. Epstein’s co-conspirator, stood at the right.

[–] kingofras@lemmy.world 29 points 3 days ago

The car crash was not the cause of death. That was weeks before and there is no record of it. But after it she wrote online she just wanted to say goodbye to her kids and was ready to die. That was 2nd of April this year.

Zero investigation by any journalist in Australia of course.

Then on a very patriotic military day in Australia, coinciding with a weekend too, she dies, out of the spotlight.

Essentially days before Trump was told he’s in the files.
