Everyone always makes fun of me when I make tomato sandwiches

No one asked but…

It’s not a copy; it’s a mimic of sorts

Are those sunflower seeds? Pine nuts? And what's making the tomatoes dark?

It looks good though- clearly top shelf bread.

Some toasted sunflower seeds. The tomato is a heirloom..don’t know much more other than this kind had a lot of purple with spots of red. It was tasty

It’s a bit of a process but worth it.

2 pieces Texas toast spread with room temp butter on all four sides. Pan fry to desired brown on all sides, remove and stand toast on rack to cool.

Once the bread is cooled spread mayo (kewpie here) on both insides.

Bottom to top: toasted sunflower seeds, tomato slices (s&p seasoned), handful basil, handful of dill, squeeze half a lemon, and top piece of toast.

It is very rich for a veggie sandwich but so good.

they said the seeds are pumpkin, looks like herbs are basil and dill
