Fuck The USA

Many Christians frame science as a matter of faith, just like religion. They think everyone's free to pick and choose what scientific facts to believe.

Conservatives calling climate change a religion are simply riffing off that vibe. If it's a religion, I'm free to believe as I wish and the other people's religion is whacko.

We are now in the comic book villain state of corporopolitical evil where it's ok to cut noses and even ears off to spite faces.

1. They are all thinking short-term. Get through this next election, this next quarter, etc.

2. When they do think about the future, they assume it's the Prisoner's Dilemma. They don't believe it's possible to cooperate to improve the situation, so they want to ensure that they're personally in the best position possible when everything goes to hell.

3. Some of them think they won't live long enough to have to deal with it.

I'm already on another planet. Sorry, I'm not allowed to invite anyone.

Its beyond willful ignorance, its the old "I'll be dead before it affects me" approach.

You would be suprised how many people actually think like this.

Even at 3 celcius of warming earth would still be the best option. Hell probably even 5.

Not to sat that 3 would he "okay".

Good luck world, with the USA doing its best to destroy medicine, science, the environment, social stability, democracy, human rights and international alliances, you're going to need it.
