They know their base are braindead cousin fucker conspiracy theorists. They're doing this to make the cousin fuckers think their party is doing something.
The problem is that republicans have courted that demographic long enough that they're now electing the braindead cousin fuckers to congress.

Once again, they're calling for the government to stop messing with things, when the actual problem is the private sector messing with things.
The governments of the world do not have secret weather fuckuppery cannons. And if they did, it'd be pee in the wind compared to the literally industrial scale weather fuckuppery cannons the industrial sector runs all day every day very publicly.
No, but the government is, ostensibly, the one entity with the power to reign them in. The problem is that capitalism has superseded democracy, and is a direct challenger to it as a form of, or superstructure to, government.
It is incompatible with democracy, as money is power, so the more of it you have, the more power over society you wield, a concept that stands in direct conflict to the very foundations of democracy.
Capitalism and democracy are mutually exclusive methods of running society.

Calling it right now, when global warming gets so bad that nobody can deny that we're causing it, any of these bills that pass are going to stop any attempt at climate control.
That's probably the idea. We should agree that weather modification is bad, pass these bills, then turn around and define oil and gas operations as activity designed to modify weather.

“Because airports are most likely to catch those who seek to weaponize science in order to push their agenda, your compliance with these reporting obligations is essential to keeping our state safe from these harmful chemicals and experiments,” Uthmeier wrote this month.
So airports now have to report every fossil fuel or fuel cell* airplane and only purely battery-electric planes are allowed? Have fun shutting down every Florida airport. ;)

All you really need to say. Greene points to albedo experiments and cloud seeding, and then says shit like this. The legislation largely passes in states with no mountains (like Florida) and thus no desire to cloud seed and increase snowpack. It's just free outrage generation for the other Republicans, but Greene is all in on it. You'll never see states in the rain shadow of the Rockies pushing this though(other than complaining about California doing it on the windward side is removing what little rainfall they get). Wyoming has been doing cloud seeding since the 50s.
There is got to be a way to glue some googly eyes here somewhere.
Private cars are the natural law of the free market only where government subsidies don’t underwrite their costs. So, if correctly implemented, this law would end government subsidies of gasoline and roads, as well as planning mandates for automobile infrastructure such as parking spaces. Also, air travel will get a lot more expensive.
An invaluable opportunity to label "global warming" as a "deep state conspiracy" was missed...
