Yeah, the character never held a switchblade to a child, that is a modern satire of the old campaign, especially popular among electricians

Old safety PSAs were more hardcore in general. The other week, I stumbled on this Riff Trax version of "Shake Hands with Danger":

Fans of the "Well there's your problem" podcast will probably recognize the song. This thing gets increasingly gory as it goes. I think there's an argument that not shying away from the brutality is a more effective message.
