This is such a wildly theocratic move. Why would you not at least just keep them here and give them out to our citizens for free? The only answer could be that you see birth control as something bad to be avoided. And of course it coincidentally helps make sure the poor people keep producing plenty of future slaves. Just another happy alignment of slave-morality Christianity and the slavers

The people came for miles to take the fruit, but this could not be. How would they buy oranges at twenty cents a dozen if they could drive out and pick them up? And men with hoses squirt kerosene on the oranges, and they are angry at the crime, angry at the people who have come to take the fruit. A million people hungry, needing the fruit- and kerosene sprayed over the golden mountains. And the smell of rot fills the country. Burn coffee for fuel in the ships. Burn corn to keep warm, it makes a hot fire. Dump potatoes in the rivers and place guards along the banks to keep the hungry people from fishing them out. Slaughter the pigs and bury them, and let the putrescence drip down into the earth.

I wish somebody would sue for wastefulness. They could give away these contraceptives here in the states rather than just throwing them away. We should be able to get our $9.7 million back if you’re just going to destroy them.
