Yeah, not sure why that is, but they remind me of my childhood too. I heard their coo all my life, but somehow it reminds me of walking to school as a child.

Same, I grew up next to some woods so they must have always been around but they particularly remind me of being up early, walking to school or doing a paper round. Easier times xD

Looks a bit scrawny, is it a juvenile? The woodpigeons I see are invariably plump with plumage in perfect state (presumably because they eat less trash).

Yes, a juvenile, lots oft golden hair still, no white collar yet etc. But i saw it flying a bit, hope it made it back onto its tree, not onto the road.

Pigeons are starting to molt now, they're going to look extra scruffy soon.
