Update from previous post https://lemmy.world/post/31284240

The scrungly baby we scooped up filled out nicely, but kept going. We've found her a forever home, but it looks like that'll be on hold for a while.

Unrelated, but if anyone wants some kittens, I know a guy.

Edit: she has a whole bedroom to herself and we've set up several nesting boxes with towels but she doesn't seem interested. Any suggestions so I can avoid having her pop under my bed?

No wonder she was scarfing down two cans in one go, she's eating for multiples! Good luck resisting the temptation to keep a kitten... or two...

We do plan to keep one. We decided not to keep her specifically because of how difficult it would be to introduce her to our cats, but a kitten should be easier for them to accept.

I'm looking forward to your tales of the young upstart bringing a new flavour of chaos to The Council!

They tend to look for darker, sheltered spaces, with little "traffic". We've "had" outdoor cats and our garage under the potato shelf was a favourite spot, but others we wouldn't see again until they come over with their babies in tow.

Maybe try adding a medium sized box, on its side, next to a wall and facing another wall, with some rags/blankets inside.

If the room is too open she may still not be comfortable, try adding some more "hiding"/cover spots around and break up the open space.

Like, consider if a dog got in and went for her babies, does she have options for safety around?
