If Bethesda'd focus on bringing Morrowind (incl. ALL of the math and mechanics) onto the latest version of CE, with the updated mobility and graphics, they'd start extruding money through every orifice...
You are aware that Morrowind is built on basically the same engine, right? Creation is literally just GameBryo with some extra features poorly taped to it. It would not change anything other than add a few graphical features like god rays.

Well, sure, they've been milking that engine dry, but it still has some significant updates compared to its state back when Morrowind came out. The movement system's been updated, projectiles have been updated, the in-game creation module features (i.e. construction mechanics) have been added, it does have some mechanical and technical improvements beyond just graphical updates. I mean, heck, it'd be streamlined a helluva lot even if they'd bring it on par with Skyrim in terms of mechanics.
