Highly recommend the Harley Quinn (2019) series if this is something that you’re interested in - It’s not exactly the plot but the focus is properly on Harley instead of Batman, The Joker, etc. (although it does take place in the DC universe and they play their roles)
Witches VS Patriarchy
That's like,,,, kinda the backstory of Harley Quinn? (not really but I headcanon that)
Does kinda read as a straight up indictment of 'being a good girl who does everything she's supposed to' because she does, and ends up literally a minion for a domestic abuser supervillain.
99% sure I've seen this exact commentary in at least one Harley story
Pretty sure HQ is the product of an abusive childhood who has mental issues with that manifest after treating mentally unstable patients who have an unhealthy affect on het.
There is a female joker, but she went crazy because she was Martha Wayne and Bruce was the one killed in that universe. Thomas Wayne became Batman.
That seems like a very good premise, excellent and very understanding backstory
the people's joker
This exactly what OP describes.
Fucking fantastic!
Absolute cinema
I think we just got a sneak preview of DC's next reboot of this character.
Edit: Oh wait, the Trump admin will sue because of DEI.
