I always liked when people I interact with regularly would have affectionate little nicknames for me like this. For a while I thought it might say something about my gender identity, like maybe I was more comfortable with heteronormative masculinity than I give myself credit for?
Anyway, turns out I just like being called affection little nicknames. Boss man, boss lady, whatever - just give me that little nod of recognition and open the dopamine floodgates.
