I really don’t understand why there isn’t a push for equal representation in congress. The building being too small is absurd. We need each congressperson repping the same number of people.

the gop never wanted equal representation, they want all of it. they simply dont have to numbers to win elections, so they use propaganda, voter suppression and election interference to win.

I worry that if they do Gerrymander it won’t just be for the sake of beating republicans, but preventing primary wins by progressive candidates.

Democracy Dies in Redistricting

Democracy never happened in the USA. It’s just a facade.

Are you suggesting that people shouldn't vote?

[–] womjunru@lemmy.cafe 1 points 1 week ago (2 children)

You mean like you just did? Haha no.

Let's be a bit more constructive than this. If you'd like to point out flaws -- and there are many -- in the U.S. voting system, by all means, go nuts.

Beeing personally dismissive is another story. Don't do this on Beehaw. I enjoy snide one-liners as much as the next guy, but, you know, keep it civil?

None of my words were uncivil.

You were directly mocking another user. Regardless of how you view that or whether you agree, we don't do that here. I'd strongly advise you to take the lesson and not triple down.

You mean like you just did?

What?

Haha no.

Okay, so you're saying that voting is how we change things. Which means that the government is directed by voting. I think there's a term for that...

"Get out and vote! Just this time. You won't have to do it anymore! Four more years, you know what? It'll be fixed, it'll be fine, you won't have to vote anymore."

why, arnt they already have strongholds in these states, it only make sense if republicans are winning districts. just like the gop are doing in thier own states.
