In case if you don't know what's happening now - apparently Meta implemented some AI (shitty beyond any comprehension) for moderation which is going rogue and banning a whole bunch of people (we are talking about tens of thousands, probably) who did nothing wrong. What's the main accusation do you think? CCE. There are shitloads and shitloads of stories on instagram reddit.
The worst shit is that it's almost impossible to restore account, cause as you all probably know Meta is a garbage company and support is almost non existent there. Even for verified accounts it turned out to be almost useless.
So, dudes, dudesses and in between - I strongly suggest to unlink your facebook and instagram accounts (cause if Meta bans instagram it bans linked Facebook as it turned out).
Use Instagram and Facebook feature to download your information - you can do that in Accounts center. Cause a chance that you can lose all your networking or friends contacts just "because" is a lot more than zero.
If you want to download your media, saved posts, whatever - gallery-dl is the best (and free) choice in my opinion, albeit you have to be a little tech savvy.
