1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of “discuss” rarely comply with this rule.

2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.

3. Avoid repetitive topics.

4. This isn't an advice forum

Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.

There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

Some other communities to consider before posting:

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.

6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.

7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with “So” - starting a post with pointless phrases, like “I hope this is allowed” or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

I have a bit of a headache so I grabbed a couple acetaminophens in "easy to swallow caplet" form. then I grabbed my water bottle, but it was empty. fml. grabbed the empty bottle and prepared to head downstairs to fill it up. Bumped that fingernail that I keep meaning to cut. ow. ok, I'll cut it now while I remember. but I got these pills in my hand.

no problem, I'll hold the pills with my lips while I trim the fingernail, then head downstairs for the water. OK, find clipper, trim. pills still in lips. OK, downstairs, OK, fill waterbottle. pills still in lips. Prepare to swallow pills.

wtf the pills are stuck to my lip somehow. Kinda like how your tongue gets stuck to a lamp-post, I guess? but it's not even cold. probably just a little sticky or something. just force the pills off my lips, no problem. hurts a bit more than expected.

Look in the mirror: my lip is freakin' bleeding from where the pills were stuck on them! each pill took a small strip of skin with it! there are two little cuts, one each from each pill. wtf!? how is this even possible...

there was only one way to express my state of mind....

I told my cousin and showed them this meme and I was like: this is my life now. this is how I spend my saturday nights. and cuz was like: taking pills and making memes! living the life!

Yeah it probably just absorbed all the moisture on your lip and glued itself to it because of that.

Is it gelatin coated? I’ve never left them on long enough to let it adhere to my lip that much, but I always notice it sticking when I take too long to get water after popping one in my mouth.

If you need to avoid it in the future, just letting more water soak into the pill should make it let go of your lip. Hope your poor lip recovers soon.

That's what I figured, but I didn't realize it would be a problem til too late. Next time it'll be like:

SCENE: a run-down house, Saturday night. Sergio is standing at a kitchen counter, his face in a bowl of water. Housemate enters scene, pauses, looks concerned.

HOUSEMATE: Sergio? Are you... feeling sad again?

(Sergio pulls face out of water, gasps for air, two pills stuck to lip)

SERGIO: It's a long story! I'll tell you later!

(Sergio dunks face back into bowl)
