Jigsaw (with no preplaning and minions) rushing to make a torture chamber and test it under 24h could be a legendary Discovery show episode.

so you weren't chased for 24 hours. fail.

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

No problem. I choose the immortal, unstoppable snail from reddit.

The obvious answer here is Freddy Krueger. Can you not stay awake for 24 hours?

Bitch, I have ADHD and have been off work for 3 weeks. I havent slept in 36 hrs not sure what day it is, and I'm analyzing how realistic the new fantastic 4 movie was.

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 6 points 6 days ago (1 children)

How realistic was it, and what units are you using to measure?

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Overall? You have to suspend your disbelief a lot. (Obviously with superhero movies) I just use the 1-10 but I haven't narrowed it down yet to an exact number as I'm still taking it all in. I guess it depends on how well you suspend disbelief. Theoretically most of it is possible except for faster than light propulsion. I also don't want to give spoilers. But really, Superman was the better tent pole movie. Superman > fantastic 4 hands down. But nothing about fantastic 4 made me care about the characters, or really the outcome. It just... Was. It was very formulaic in a way that Superman wasn't. Especially if you know who Franklin Richards is, then the whole movie didn't really have a point. Right now id say 3/10 but that can change in the next half hour if I consider other points. But it was mid at best.

Oh well. I’ve given up on Marvel, but I thought this one might be a little better than everything else’s they’ve been doing. I’m dying to see Superman, but I’m probably going to end up waiting for streaming.

Fantastic 4 isn't BAD. It's just not good either. Certainly not worth the hype that it's getting. Superman actually deserves the box office revenue. It's got more humor, more heart and more characters you actually care about. I didn't feel a thing for anybody in fantastic 4. I knew they'd survive and that was about it. It's just hard to connect with anyone in the fantastic 4. There's a good sob story monologue, but it just doesn't make you care about the characters like Superman does.

Depends. Do they put this on you at bed time? Being up 36+ hours?

[–] WoodScientist@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 week ago

Yeah I'm assuming you can choose the time. But if it's sprung on you, then that does change things.

Jaws. Stay out of the water.

Amityville / Overlook Hotel. Don't go inside.

The T-Rex from Jurassic Park, because on the one hand, I could probably just drive away at a reasonable pace and make it, but on the other hand, even if it gets me, the collateral damage alone will be a totally inexplicable story that will last forever.

whatever that thing is from "it follows".

between its relatively slow speed and finite time limit, I could make it a day.

relentless isn't really a problem for a 24-hour time limit.

can't wait for the sequel.

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 2 points 6 days ago

I don’t recall there being a time limit at all!

[–] YaksDC@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 week ago

Completely agree, came here to say that. ☺️

The mirror from Occulus.

It's a mirror. It cannot chase me if I just run away. Just gotta make sure I actually am getting away and not being gaslit by the mirror.

[–] otacon239@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

That’s exactly what the mirror would want

(Literally my favorite horror movie btw)

[–] AreaKode@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Nah. He'll just kill you for fun.

[–] fubarx@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Oscar the Grouch.
