5 years is a long time for a show. They just need to call them what they are, multipart movies.

To be a little bit fair, between the two seasons the DCEU came to an end, the entire studio was handed to new creators, and a new DCU was formed.

If this were the only thing on James Gunn's plate we might have gotten it sooner.

Assuming season 3+, I expect it won't take 5 years.

Miniseries is also a word that already exists.

Yeah but miniseries are expected to end at the end of the series. These multipart movies have sequels.

Plenty of miniserieses (miniserieux?) have sequels. But otherwise, you're probably right.

and for 6-8 episodes for some of these shows. just like with orville which took 6 years just to make 3 measly seasons.
