This is a follow-up post to my original analysis using max melee gear . If you want to skip the math you can view results at the bottom.
Using this void setup as a baseline, here are what different punish weapons will offer assuming a 1-way switch where you only equip the weapon with no other gear or prayer swaps. Strength boosting potions are not included.

Scorching Bow w/ Dragon Arrows, Rigour, range pot
- Max hit: 58
-
Avg hit: 28
-
7 dmg/tick avg
Due to the massive built-in strength bonus and multi-hit attacks of the crystal halberd and scythe, they become even more powerful relative to other weapons with the less melee switches you use. Standard dual-hitting weapons are also tempting to use as a replacement for Arclight/Emberlight, but a halberd may offer more utility for dealing with Grub phases while avoiding venom splats. This likely comes down to preference.
So far, we haven’t taken into account attack delay and spec usage for each weapon. I won’t make assumptions about spec use because there are far too many variables to consider. However, we can determine a realistic DPS using average Scorching Bow damage per tick.
One fallacy I've noticed is DPS being calculated by simply dividing the damage over however many ticks the attack takes to perform. This can be misleading. For instance, the 3 ticks saved by using Dual Maracas vs. a Crystal Halberd are not 3 ticks of punish-tier damage. Instead, they are just 3 normal ticks of bow & arrow damage and should be calculated accordingly.
So, using the 7 tick length of the Crystal Halberd attack as a baseline we can determine accurate dpt for each weapon using the punish damage + however many ticks of average scorching bow damage to reach 7 ticks. Results:
Emberlight - 5.06/tick
Crystal Halberd (non-spec) - 5.68/tick
Tecu Salamander - 6.69/tick
Rapier/Saeldor/Mace - 7.61/tick
Blades/Stabbers/Ice boppers - 8.63/tick
Noxious Halberd - 8.68/tick
Dual Macools - 9.68/tick
Scythe - 11.93/tick
Burning Claws (no burn) - 9/tick
Burning Claws (yes burn) - 9.63/tick
Dragon Dagger - 11.14/tick
Saradomin Godsword - 11.43/tick
Dragon claws - 14.4/tick
Crystal Halberd - 19.14/tick
Additionally, here's a chart to help visualize how much echo damage each piece of strength boosting gear will add to your attacks (not accounting for the extra damage on your base attack).
