They aren't though. They might slow down for where the camera is but speed cams are not effective speed deterrents. Or their effective for the 40 yards before and after the camera where people just speed again.
Looking at speeding data in these areas before and after speed cameras were installed, it found that cameras have reduced the proportion of speeding vehicles in urban school zones by 45 per cent.
