Mr Evrart is helping me find my gun
multiple times, brings tears to my eyes
I had fun with it back in the day. It was a nice change of pace from all the other games where you lose or load a save when you die. Where this made death part of the progression. And it explored different beliefs or philosophies, kinda innovative storyline for the time.
I probably played it through twice, compared to bg/bg2 where I played many more hours with different character classes and alignments.
Never played or searched any info about it. What's it about and which parts are similar to DE?
So it's an isomeric D&D crpg contemporary with Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale (and made in the same engine). Compared to those others it is very dialogue-heavy. Many plot-significant combat encounters can be resolved entirely through dialogue checks, including the final boss.
The game starts with the main character waking up with no memory on as slab in the morgue. Much of the plot revolves around uncovering his own past and deciding what kind of person he will be moving forward.
It's about figuring out your own past, much like DE. You have amnesia from constsntly dying and coming back to life snd you want to find out who you are and why you just wont stay dead. Although it's a fantasy game, uses AD&D rules and is set in a kind of expanded Forgotten Realms setting. It's got an epic fuckton of dialogue choices like DE and is also incredibly well-written, like DE.
Sounds like another game for my pile (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
