There's no way this guy wrote "Fuck his prostate" with a straight face on his phone

[–] hemko@lemmy.dbzer0.com 40 points 1 week ago

No I'm pretty sure it was pretty gay face when writing that

Badum-tss

I mean he was also a racist union-busting arsehole, but I understand those are virtues to republicans.

Talking about Hogan or Biden?

[–] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Hogan. Biden is known to be one of the most (the bar is low, ok?) pro-union presidents. At least, according to the unions, if you trust them.

That article is pure "Why won't the Left worship their Lord and Savior Joe Biden" propaganda sourced from a report by the center right to right wing Neoliberal think tank/pr arm of the DNC Center for American Progress.

Credit for the article even mentioning the amazing Jennifer Abruzzo who did the stellar work at the NLRB that gave Biden that undeserved accolade, though.

Usually the billionaire owned media attributes her pro-worker accomplishments to "Biden's NLRB" or at best "the NLRB" while the guy who basically did the same thing to railway workers as Reagan (and the current fascist kakistocracy) did to air traffic controllers is hailed as the second coming of FDR 🤦

Ok. So I see you provide no evidence that he's ranked poorly against his peers.

I said the bar was low.

I'm not arguing how people incorrectly rank him based on puff pieces from the likes of CAP, the NYT, or Politico. I'm speaking of what he has actually DONE for and to workers.

The Democratic Party and by extension Dem presidents were traditionally allies of unions and workers in general up to and including Carter. That ended when Clinton beat Bush the Elder by being more like Reagan than him.

Biden was the second or third worst Dem president for workers in his own lifetime.

Has there been many Republican presidents, including Trump, who have been MUCH worse for unions? Absolutely!

Does that mean that he was any good for unions, though, let alone one of the best ever? Hell no!

I never understood this idea that we always have to have compassion for the dead.

They are dead, while having compassion always has value, there is more value to having compassion for the living.

I’m guessing it’s to comfort the living who fear being hating after they die

I think there's also a degree of picking on someone who can't defend themselves.

[–] Septimaeus 7 points 1 week ago

Precisely the reason. It’s seen as dishonorable, unsportsmanlike, or a form of cowardice, to attack the defenseless. Some cultures also have a kind of social pact to either speak well or remain silent, but the rule against attacking those who can’t defend is fairly universal.

[–] Scubus@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I think in this case, the solution to both of those issues is: if you dont want to get picked on, dont be a piece of shit people want to pick on

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 1 day ago

every now and then i'm reminded of the fact that rich people in medieval times would sponsor bridges and build a little prayer cubby next to them so people could pray for their souls

like, can we go back to that maybe? it might be a bit less easy to hate rich people if they paid for bike lanes all over the country..

[–] OhStopYellingAtMe@lemmy.world 28 points 1 week ago

I’m not celebrating Hogan’s death because he was a trumper. I’m celebrating his death because he was a racist anti-union scumbag.
It just so happens that he was a trumper because he was a racist anti-union scumbag.

"old people's prostates" is a hell of a specific kink, but he said himself he wants to fuck joe biden and his prostate!

[–] d00ery@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

I think there was a bunch of shady stuff regardless of his political leanings.https://eu.usatoday.com/story/sports/2025/07/24/hulk-hogan-biggest-controversies/85360277007/

[–] Tiger666@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 week ago

Fuck his prostate? Even when they try to insult someone their homophobia shows up.

[–] DeathByBigSad@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 week ago

I didn't care about either of them.

I mean they're the elites, they have access to healthcare. If they die, that might be the universe flipping them off.

[–] ikidd@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Would have been funnier if someone dug up a quote from Hogan saying that.

[–] MudMan@fedia.io -5 points 1 week ago

"Yay, everyone sucks!" may not be the uplifting message that gets me out of bed in the morning.

But hey, take your dunks on the fascistoids where you can find them, I suppose.
