I assumed the August 27th was to let it breathe up against Fantastic Four, now I'm curious if it's trying to hide.

Peacemaker Season 2 drops on HBO Max on 8/21 so that might have had something to do with it.
Good point, although they could do August 15th to be at that and give room.
Of course they could also be thinking after Fantastic Four opening Disney+ (a week later) and seeing a new show will get some people back in the MCU groove.
I just don't see how 4 episodes of streaming competes with a theatrical release. Nobody is like "Man, I'd like to watch that new Disney+ show, but I'm going to go to the theater and forget it even exists!"
People will just do both (if they're interested in both).
I should clarify, competes from a news cycle/marketing perspective. Most people aren't going to know that Eyes of Wakanda exists.
Next weekend the headline is going to be "Fantastic Four rises/falls in the box office" and not "Eyes of Wakanda shows us an exciting/boring world".
15th is a holiday in parts of Europe, could be that they don't want to premiere anything on that date
