If you dodge 99 bullets and get killed by the last one, you're a great bullet dodger but still dead. Did anyone count how many bullets were shot at him that didn't hit?

But you fuck one goat...

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 week ago

There were over a dozen that did hit if you count both times he got hit. No idea how many missed, likely a lot.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 43 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Yes, but what about second bullet?

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

The bullet only had to get lucky once.

He's not dead, he's coming back in 2026 with a new album.

I mean, a new Mozart just dropped last year. It could happen

[–] xylol@leminal.space 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Was Mozart down in Jamaica too?

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 11 points 1 week ago

With Elvis and Biggie.

Why was she considered a bullet to dodge? Was she some sorta nutso problem causer?

[–] kadaverin0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 61 points 1 week ago (4 children)

She went sideways a few years ago and got into some New Age bullshit artist and made a few really uncomfortable videos of her and Will Smith where he's clearly angry and doesn't want to be on camera while she waxes intellectual about how to maintain a strong marriage. She later went on to cheat on him with one of her sons friends and used her spiritual woo-woo garbage to justify it.

Most people just assume she's always been a self-involved asshole.

You left out the worst part…ok not the worst but one of her top 3 anime villain moments:

After Smith had shown a documentary about Pinkett Smith's life at her birthday party, a surprise three years in the making, she told him it was "the most disgusting display of ego I have ever seen in my life."

https://www.newsweek.com/will-smith-40th-birthday-party-jada-pinkett-smith-low-point-marriage-1695387

Imagine you work for three years on something for your spouses birthday and she shits on it and gaslights you into believing you being in the wrong for trying to make her day special.

Ladies and gentlemen, if you ever find yourself in the clutches of a bitch like this: Run. Just run. Run people over if you have to but run! There is no saving this relationship, there is no happiness or future there. Run and find someone worthy of your love.

Holy fuck Will Smith is such a cuck. And not the kind that enjoys it. I don’t get it, what’s so special about her that he’s willing to throw is own dignity out the window. Bet he has to grovel for attention from his wife, no wonder his kids are so weird.

[–] TheBluePillock@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

He definitely should have left years ago, but I have sympathy for anybody caught in the clutches of an abuser, always catching glimpses of the wonderful person they used to be and hanging on promises that they'll do better. But that day never comes. Things have been bad for a while and you know it, but they don't seem that bad because it was always a little at a time and you'd get used to it. All of your other relationships have suffered, so this is all you have left to cling to. You just want to make them happy and have them love you again.

If you don't understand, I hope you never do.

Love is blind, as they say.

New Age bullshit artist

You can type scientology here, don't to have beat around it...

[–] kadaverin0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 1 week ago

No, it was something different from Scientology but I'm sure that played a part in her descent into wingnuttery. If I recall correctly, it was a woman passing herself off as a spiritual relationship guru of some sort.

cheat on him with one of her sons

whoa, what the-

friends

ohhhhhh

[–] Siethron@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

I mean still "what the fuck?" But less "what the fuck?".

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 5 points 1 week ago

Thanks for the background.

[–] Not_Dav3@lemmy.world 29 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I would answer that question, but I'm afraid Will Smith would slap me for it.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 1 week ago

Better not risk it.

[–] Mim@lemmy.zip 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He did.

Even though he didn't dodge the last one.

The second most annoying thing about microblogging platforms is when people (eg. "lumi") make a perfectly good understated joke, and then someone else ("selinam") stumbles in and explains it and everyone acts they're the one that made the connection...

[–] Psythik@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Damn she looks 12 in in this but I looked it up: she was 20-21 at the time of the photo.

[–] Gladaed@feddit.org 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No she doesn't? It's just a head with a giant smile and not much detail.

[–] blockheadjt@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago

That hairstyle is associated with children though, because it's how parents often deal with their kids' curly hair

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Imagine being young and beautiful and dating one of the most famous people in America. Everything is going great for you, and then suddenly it all comes crashing down.

Can't be good for your mental health.

'Plinkett' as a name just seem to be a flag for awful behaviour/attitudes and people.

Yes I'm specifically referring to RedLetterMedia as the other main example.

[–] oascany@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

What's going on with RLM? Used to love watching them

[–] Rooskie91@discuss.online 2 points 1 week ago

He didn't even dodge his own bullets! /s
