So the US is now kidnapping Canadian citizens from Canadian territory? Maybe our own Coast Guard needs to be deployed to defend us from these criminals?

Conventionally, and treatylyly, you can travel through US waters as long as you don’t intend to stop. Canadian ferries do this all the time. Someday soon, hundreds of Canadians are going to be arrested because US national security depends on a crisis to distract you from Trump’s latest embarrassment.
