What in The Empire Strikes Back was going on with Una's hair?
Star Trek
Welcome to a Star Trek community where you’re free to chat and share your opinions about all things Trek!
I want to have a place where fans can come to praise, discuss, and even criticise things in the Star Trek franchise. No show or movie is perfect, and I don't believe people should be silenced for having a dissenting opinion. That being said, there are still a few rules.
Be Nice - No personal attacks. You can disagree with someone's opinion, but it needs to stop there.
No Slurs - This is applicable to ethnicity, religion, gender, or anything else.
No Adult Content - Keep it family friendly.
No Spamming or Trolling - Consistently spamming comments or trolling is just not needed.
Please keep topics Trek related or Trek adjacent for the most part, and have fun!
I had noticed that all of the women on the bridge with longer hair (Una, Uhura, and La'an) had more contained hairstyles this episode, and I'm wondering if it was because of the zero g scene. With the amount of wirework they did for that scene, it wouldn't surprise me if they were just trying to cut out the extra effort of rigging hair so it floated like they did for the Subspace Rhapsody scene.
That does make sense, but there had to be better ways to deal with it hers specifically.
Oh definitely, the way they did it looked too unnatural!
It was very, er, Germanic? Like I think she had some kind of braid thing going on that wrapped around her head like she was going to Oktoberfest or something, but the lighting combined with her jet black hair just made it look like a weird sort of bathing cap.
Exactly! I said she looked like she was wearing a shower cap, then near the end of the episode it looked like she was bald and wearing some kind of fur toque.
