That game is incredibly fun
I have no idea what Nintendo are planning with Metroid Prime. The saga had a bit of a moment with Dread and Prime Remaster, but they haven't been giving Prime 4 that much attention in the Switch 2 marketing. I'm hoping it's as you say: A Direct with full reveal that changes the perception. I had my doubts with DK Bananza, but the Direct convinced me to get it (and I'm really enjoying it).
September does seem too close, but there's been rumours about a July Direct. That could potentially be the Metroid Direct for a September release. They have the new Pokémon in October. So that leaves November and December. It could be the holiday release! Hyrule Warriors will potentially slip into next year, since it was announced for "this winter" (Northern Hemisphere).
Also August has a weak lineup of first party games. Drag x Drive doesn't look like much more than a demo for the mouse controls and then there's Kirby Switch 2 edition. Metroid Prime 4 could be a good option for September.
Also let's get Prime 2 and 3 HD shadow dropped please!
On that note, I hope the direct for Prime 4 is a release day, with a "also, have Prime 2 remaster today" in it to build hype
Looks like there could be a Metroid Direct soon 👀
a rating for the game in South Korea (shared on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit) has fans hopeful that the game isn't far off. The rating doesn't really give away anything, but it looks like it was filed on 10th July 2025 but was only published today.
